What kinds of animals can be communicated with in your session?
Any animals that belong to you or that you have or have had a relationship with. I have had great success with dogs, cats, horses, pigs, birds, exotics, and even reptiles! Learn more about my approach to animal communication with living pets.
In what ways do animals send messages?
My most common ways of receiving messages are in the form of seeing pictures, feeling emotions, an inner knowing where I receive downloads of information, feeling physical sensations, or hearing words or phrases. Because of this, I will often ask you as the owner to help me decipher what the messages mean since I don't know the pet. For example, I once asked a dog what his favorite thing to do was and all I saw was bubbles. That didn't mean anything to me, but the owner knew the dog was referring to his bubble machine as he loved chasing the bubbles!
Are there times animals don’t want to connect or you can’t receive messages?
Yep! It's not common but there have been times I've struggled to help someone in the way I would like to. It could be the animal's higher self doesn't want to participate, it could be I'm not the right one to deliver the messages the animal wants you to receive, it could be we aren’t a vibrational match, or, it could even be that it's not the right time for you to receive them. I’m also human and it’s possible for me to have an off day where I struggle to get into the right state to connect. If this happens, we can just try again another day if that seems appropriate or I will simply refund your payment. I want everyone who does a session with me to be happy with the results.
Is an animal communicator the same as a pet psychic or animal psychic?
Yes, and no. The terms are often used interchangeably but there can be a few differences as well. As an animal communicator, we are communicating directly with the animal. A pet psychic however, could be downloading information from guides or other benevolent beings as well as communicating with the animal. I have found in my sessions I usually communicate directly with the animal, but I have had instances where I felt like I was receiving information from either my guides or the human’s guides.
Is an animal communicator the same as an animal whisperer?
Again, the terms can, for the most part, be used interchangeably. Both an animal communicator and a whisperer may tap into the animal’s energetic field to send and receive information but may have different methods of doing so. An animal communicator may rely more on intuition whereas a whisperer may rely more on subconscious and instinctual cues from the animal. It’s through using our intuition that we are able to conduct these sessions from a distance without the animal present.
Does animal communication work remotely?
Yes, it does! Since energetic fields are not limited to the space around our bodies, we can tap into anyone’s energetic field at any time, including our pets. Doing animal communication remotely takes a lot of concentration and focus, but it is something we can all do if we put in the work to learn it.

What is pet mediumship?

Can I do a combined session with both living and passed animals?
Yes!! We can use the time during your session in whatever way you'd like with multiple animals, alive or in spirit.
How soon after my animal has passed can I book a session?
There's no set time frame that is best. I have had good success as soon as a few days after passing and I have had some that needed several weeks. Which time frame is best is very often determined by you, the human, since if you are processing profound grief or guilt, it can hinder the connection as you may not be ready to hear the things the animal has to tell you. I suggest waiting until you feel you are ready to receive anything and everything that may come from the animal. If you have doubts, usually 2-3 weeks after the animal has passed is a safe time to book.

Communication Session
How do I attend the session? Are sessions in person?
All of my sessions are done over video on Zoom. You'll receive a link to join your session in the confirmation email you’ll receive as soon as you book. I don't tend to do in person sessions as I don't feel I get any better results than over video and I can keep my prices more affordable and help more people across the country this way.
What do I need to do before my session?
All I need from you is to send me a photo of the animals you’d like to connect with to info@shannaparker.com. It's also a great idea to be putting thought into and making a list of questions or topics you'd like to be sure we cover in our session. I do send out an email the week prior to your session with lots more info to help you be prepared so make sure to watch for that and let me know if you don’t receive it.
How much time should I book?
A 30 minute session is typically perfect to do a full reading with one animal but you can also do a very quick wellness check with one animal in 15 minutes or with two animals in 30 minutes. If you're dealing with very complicated issues or want to go very in depth, you may want to book up to 45 minutes or an hour for one pet. If you have questions about how much time to schedule, you can always book a free 15 minute consultation to figure out exactly how much time you would need to achieve your goals for the session.
Can my partner, friend, or loved one attend the session? Can it be recorded?
Yes and yes! All I ask if multiple people attend that everyone refrain from talking in the moments when I’m communicating with the pet as it can interfere with my ability to receive the messages clearly.
Scheduling, Payment
& Appointment Policies
Do you require payment up front?
Yes, I do require pre-payment to secure your spot in my schedule.
What is your cancellation and no-show policy?
You can cancel up to 24 hours prior to your appointment. Your appointment will be considered a no-show if you are not logged in within 10 minutes after your scheduled appointment time. The system is set up to send you both email and text reminders provided you do not opt out of them at the time of scheduling your appointment.
